These workshops will use poetry, performance and creative writing as a way into talking about style, influences and exploring and celebrating differences.
We’ll look at form, why, where and when to break rules, and performing and publishing poetry as forms of protest. Lewis will look at the voice(s) we use in poems and how to create a new and authentic voice.
We will look specifically at identity, climate and economic justice and COVID-19 as themes for our work.
The workshops will culminate in December or January 2020 with a performance or mini-protest and the creation of a multimedia activism library.
